Precinct Organization

What is a precinct chair? I know it sounds a little intimidating. Basically, in a nutshell, a Precinct Chair is a person that represents your voting site. Ideally, it's a position of leadership, but it is not a requirement.

How much time does it take? That is up to you. At minimum, I would like a commitment that you will pick up yard signs (from the GOP) and bring them to your precinct (aka your voting site) at election time. If you can recruit others in your area to help at the polls this November, that would be HUGELY helpful.

What are the qualifications? The only real requirement is that you are a Registered Republican. If you are a Registered Republican and want to help out the GOP locally, this is your perfect opportunity.

What can I expect? You can expect to have a few meetings a long the way, most likely by telephone or online in the nearest future. You can expect direction and training, at whatever level you need it.

What would I do if I'm ready to go all in volunteer as much as possible?
Help Elect Republicans
Promote the Cumberland County GOP
Recruit volunteers for getting out the vote
Recruit election day (and early voting) volunteers to hand out our Conservative Poll cards at your voting site
Hold Voter Registration Drives
Place signs at your polling place the night before voting begins
Phone calling
Door knocking
*Please note, the above are not REQUIREMENTS

Does becoming a Precinct Chair make me an official part of the GOP? It sure does!! As Precinct Chair, you will become a member of the Cumberland County Republican Party Executive Committee. You can expect Committee meetings to take place every other month. When business has to be voted on, Precinct Chairs are a voting member.
